The movie “Revolution in Pleasantville” has been a treasure hunt for us. The movie narrator talks about the two test farms where Jeeps, the Monroe lift and Newgren equipment were “Farm Tested”. While we were aware of the test farm in Michigan, we had no information on the Georgia test farm, other than it was near Warm Springs.
The story of the Georgia test farm is as much a human interest story as a Jeep story. It is part of the McIntyre family history that we had not known. Our research has uncovered two newspaper articles that tell the story.
The second article introduces the Jeep testing.
With the information provided in the articles, we have attempted to find the original location of the farm, “(in} Talbot Country. between Woodland and Thomaston.” To date we have failed, but will continue our research.
